The HSBC Expat’s annual survey has come up with the list of 33 best countries that are best to live and work in. Well, India has been ranked the 18th best country in this survey and has scored high in a few important parameters including ease of settlement and making friends. However, India has ranked the best country for making friends, sixth for ‘reaching potential’ in career and fourth for living a fulfilled life. Switzerland ranked first in this list and more than 80 per cent of the people who have relocated there are happy with its economic scenario and a whopping 86 per cent are satisfied with the political climate of the country. Around 82 per cent of the people, who moved to Switzerland to work, shared that they enjoyed a better standard of living when compared to their home country. Singapore was ranked as the second-best country to live and work in, especially for those who have settled there with kids. About 62 per cent of the respondents opined that the schooling system in Singapore was better than their native country and 69 per cent said that living in this country helped their kids to learn new languages. The researchers of this study surveyed more than 18,000 expats from around 163 countries. Interestingly, it has been the first time in five years that Singapore was not ranked first in this list. Canada, the third country in the list, is ranked high for its reputation of welcoming foreign visitors.
