The number of coronavirus cases in India rose to 29,974 on Tuesday evening. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday told BRICS member nations that it was important to support micro, medium and small enterprises in tiding over the coronavirus crisis and ensure that livelihoods are not lost. During a video conference with the foreign ministers of the member nations, he noted that the pandemic had severely hit the global economy and led to loss of jobs and livelihoods. The Delhi government has relaxed the lockdown guidelines in the national Capital and allowed veterinary services and self-employed individuals such as electricians, plumbers and water purifier repairmen to operate from Tuesday. The NITI Aayog building in New Delhi was sealed after an employee working for the government’s policy think tank was found to be infected with Covid-19. In a tweet, NITI Aayog said contacts of the patient have been asked to go into self-quarantine.
